I tried it before and it just didn’t work…
I dunno about the irritation part though. Could be the benzyol peroxide thing. It tends to dry skin.

no not really. see the thing is with proactive is that you have to constantly use it. i used it for about 4 months and it was doing just fine. i missed 3 days and bam, all my acne came back. its a rip off, and a waste of money,

rubbing achohol works just fine for me, may hurt for a second, but it does the trick.

Proactive solution didn’t work for me either, it made my skin dry, red and irritated, and then it started to peel! Argh! It was a nightmare!
I have quite sensitive skin though. I think it mostly works on people with very oily skin.

What worked best for me was to go onto the contraceptive pill diane, as it controls the hormones that can cause acne.. worked wonders for me. Acne and birth control all in one! :)

I am now off diane though, and my acne is starting to come back.. my doctor has given me a topical gel that seems to be working (slowly!!).. It is called Eryacne, and contains erythromycin..

Hopefully that is of some help! Good luck :)

i agree with HAn, and that happened to me too. My skin reacted extremely well the first few days, then all of a sudden, it started to burn and nothing could cool it down. My face got redder and redder, the pimples were larger and more of them, and I started to peel.

Proactiv is really strong stuff dont use it if you have really sensitive skin.IF you are reallly convinced that it can help, buy the sensitive skin version by going online to proactiv.com

hope this helped!

Yeah, I tried it. It worked ok, but my skin was never really clear. I switched to this and it works great. Sooo much better than proactiv
